With new tools, the humble sketch, still the most powerful tool in my skill set, has become even more effective for visualising ideas. The proposal featured a compact, refined black-clad form with timber accents, inspired by the client’s vision of “Audrey Hepburn elegance.” Though it will not be built, it was an engaging exploration of minimalist, high-quality design shaped by its setting.

The Elbe Maze Pools is a conceptual design project reimagining the banks of the Elbe River in Hamburg as an iconic public swimming destination. Inspired by famous urban waterfront pools like Bondi Icebergs in Sydney and Copenhagen’s harbour baths, this idea explores how Hamburg could offer residents and visitors a safe, sustainable, and beautifully designed space to cool off during hot summers.
